While he spent many of his early days exploring the waters and tributaries of the coast, it wasn\u2019t until a trip to the Philippines that he decided to get SCUBA certified.&nbsp; He immediately fell in love with the sport and it wasn\u2019t long before diving became an important part of his life- when he wasn\u2019t diving, he was thinking about diving.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Wreck Diving<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wetrocksdiving.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/1280px-Aft_view_Thistlegorm-User-Woodym555-cc-useable-medium-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5478\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wetrocksdiving.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/1280px-Aft_view_Thistlegorm-User-Woodym555-cc-useable-medium-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.wetrocksdiving.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/1280px-Aft_view_Thistlegorm-User-Woodym555-cc-useable-medium-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.wetrocksdiving.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/1280px-Aft_view_Thistlegorm-User-Woodym555-cc-useable-medium-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.wetrocksdiving.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/1280px-Aft_view_Thistlegorm-User-Woodym555-cc-useable-medium-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.wetrocksdiving.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/1280px-Aft_view_Thistlegorm-User-Woodym555-cc-useable-medium.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>During a trip to the Egyptian Red Sea, Max had the opportunity to dive several shipwrecks, including the World War II armed merchant ship <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/SS_Thistlegorm\" target=\"_blank\">SS Thistlegorm<\/a>, and he quickly became completely engrossed with these familiar, yet transformed, vessels resting on the bottom of the ocean.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Cave Diving<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While initially not interested in caves, Max pursued cave training in order to safely explore shipwrecks. Similar to his first wreck dive, and his first ocean dive before that, it didn\u2019t take long for him to fall in love with the gorgeous new world of cave diving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Today<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Max currently resides in South Florida where he splits his time between the wrecks of the East Coast and the caves of North Florida and the Mexican Riviera Maya. Max is a fundamentals instructor with Global Underwater Explorers. He is an active member of the Woodsville Karst Plan Project and a founding member of the South East Underwater Explorers.
